Frequently asked questions
We know that there’s probably a lot of things that you want to ask, so we’ve compiled a list of things that we’re asked the most often. If your query isn’t answered in the below info then just drop us a line to email@example.com and we’ll get back to you and add it to the list
Can I have a go?
How long is the course?
Can I practice the course before the race?
Absolutely, the name of the game at the Dirty Hot Lap is that you go as quick as you can on your timed lap, so the course will be open from 2pm (race at 4pm) for you to practise. We encourage you to take your time and look for the lines that may save you a second, others may not have spotted it!
How will the start of the race work?
Depending on how many of you enter we will either gather everone for 4pm for you to start at 1min intervals based on the undisclosed Dirty Hot Lap seeding, or if loads of you join us we will split you into groups so that you aren’t standing around for too long.
What happens if I get caught by the rider behind me?
Nothing really changes, other than making sure that you help the other rider pass you as quickly and safely as possible just keep going as quickly as you can!! Oh, and don;t worry about it as they may ‘blow up’ allowing you to get back past
Can I cancel my entry?
Yes, a full refund will be offered on a pre-entry up to 4 weeks before race day, between 2 and 4 weeks your refund will be 50% of the pre-entry value. If you need to cancel within 2 weeks of the race we cannot offer a refund but we are more than happy to transfer your entry to another round of this year’s series.
What happens when I reach the finish?
To be honest the first thing you’ll probably do is stop and pop your lungs back in! Once you can see straight again have a look at the timing screen to get you time. If your the current fastest time you’re got to make your way to the Hot Seat, if you’re planning to camp with us we encourage you to head for the beer tent, grab a cold one and hang about with your mates and cheer/heckle the riders who are still at it!
How do I get more info?
You can always drop us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, we like hearing from you! In the run up to the event we’ll be sending an event briefing out to all pre entered riders that will have all of the details in it.

We rode the final lap together and if I’m honest Simon could have left me at any time, but being the gentleman racer he is he chose not to and let me cross the line before him. (Muchos gracious amigo! The corner crash from last year is now fully forgiven).read more
