FAQ’s and Rules for the TrailX Off Road Triathlon
We know that there’s probably a lot of things that you want to ask, so we’re steadily compiling a list of things that we’re asked the most often. If your query isn’t answered in the below info then just drop us a line to firstname.lastname@example.org and we can add it to the list
Can I have a go?
Of course! Everyone who is 14 and older is welcome at the TrailX Off Road Triathlon. It doesn’t matter whether this is your first race or you’re a seasoned pro. Have a read through the info on this page and press the enter button.
How long is the course?
Can I practice the course before the race?
How will the start of the race work?
See the schedule page for details of your briefing and start time.
All races will use a wave start, each wave will have 10 competitors and there will be a gap of 2-5mins between waves. This will ensure that each of you gets plenty of space to swim at you own pace and will ensure that there is no congestion on the MTB course
Do I have to wear a wetsuit?
In short yes:
We’ll be following the British Triathlon guidelines surrounding water temperature and wetsuits – but due to the river fed nature of the lakes the water temperature will always be on the colder end of the spectrum. Aside from keeping you warm, they also keep you safe as wetsuits are very buoyant!
Can I camp on site?
Yes, just tick the relevant boxes on the registration page. There’ll be showers and loos on site but please bring some drinking water with you
Where can I find more information on the rules?
Can I cancel my entry?
Yes, a full refund will be offered on a pre-entry up to 8 weeks before race day, between 4 and 6 weeks your refund will be 50% of the entry value. Refunds requests within the final 4 weeks before the event will be at the organisers discretion.
What happens if Eventrex need to cancel the event?
Please be assured that this will not happen unless we are forced to by circumstances outside of our control, examples of this are listed below and this list should not be considered exhaustive and is subject to review at anytime;
- Adverse weather that could affect your safety
- A state of war
- An act of God

Should this happen we will do all we can refund as much of your entry fee to you as possible but please understand that this is discretionary
