FAQ’s and Rules for the TrailX Off Road Triathlon
We know that there’s probably a lot of things that you want to ask, so we’re steadily compiling a list of things that we’re asked the most often. If your query isn’t answered in the below info then just drop us a line to firstname.lastname@example.org and we can add it to the list
Can I have a go?
Of course! Everyone is welcome at the TrailX off road Triathlon. It doesn’t matter whether this is your first race or you’re a seasoned pro. Have a read through the info on this page and press the enter button.
How long is the course?
Can I practice the course before the race?
How will the start of the race work?
See the schedule page for details of your briefing and start time.
There will be 2 opportunities to start the Full Fat event for both the Female race and the Male competitors, the first will be a mass start and the second will be a window of 5 minutes for rolling starters, so if you want to get in the water when it’s a little quieter go for the rolling start.
Do I have to wear a wetsuit?
In short yes:
We’ll be following the British Triathlon guidelines surrounding water temperature and wetsuits – but due to the river fed nature of the lakes the water temperature will always be on the colder end of the spectrum. Aside from keeping you warm, they also keep you safe – its impossible to sink whilst wearing one!
Can I camp on site?
Not at the moment but we are working with a near by campsite to rectify this and will update ASAP.
Where can I find more information on the rules?
Although this isn’t a British Triathlon registered event we will be applying their rules where appropriate, please click here for a link the British Triathlon Rules & Regs and please pay particular attention to section 19
Can I cancel my entry?
Yes, a full refund will be offered on a pre-entry up to 6 weeks before race day, between 2 and 6 weeks your refund will be 50% of the entry value. Refunds requests within the final 2 weeks before the event will be at the organisers discretion.
What happens if we need to cancel the event?
Please be assured that this will not happen unless we are forced to by circumstances outside of our control, examples of this are listed below and this list should not be considered exhaustive and is subject to review at anytime;
- Adverse weather that could affect your safety
- A state of war
- An act of God
- Loss of the venue
